An Energized and Engaged Team

Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst is a globally recognized credential for professionals managing, analyzing, distributing or regulating alternative investments and asset classes. There’s been a huge rise in alternative investments such as hedge funds, real assets, and private equity. These can be more complicated and the danger is that both investors and wealth managers aren’t fully aware of the risk without some standard tools and formal education.

Successful completion of two exams and membership in the CAIA Association puts Eddy Augsten among a select group worldwide. There is a thorough and rigorous process of education and certification. Two exam levels cover everything from the characteristics of various strategies within each alternative asset class to portfolio management concepts central to alternative investments.

Level I assesses an understanding of various alternative asset classes and your knowledge of the tools and techniques used to evaluate the risk-return attributes of each one. Level II assesses how one would apply the knowledge and analytics learned in Level I within a portfolio management context. Both exams include segments on ethics and professional conduct.

CIMA® professionals have met extensive experience and ethical requirements, in addition to successfully completed advanced investment management consulting coursework through the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Applying state-of-the-art investment theory, CIMA® professionals provide objective investment advice and guidance to individuals and institutions. They integrate a complex body of investment knowledge systematically and ethically to help clients make prudent investment decisions. Ongoing continuing education requirements must be met, and they must also adhere to IMCA’s Code of Professional Responsibility and Standards of Practice.

But what does this designation mean for you? It means that when you work with an investment consultant who has taken the time to become CIMA® certified, you’re working with someone who understands the financial complexities and risks that come with being in the highest tax bracket, is well-versed in modern concepts of investment advice, and perhaps, most important, is educated enough to understand how your individual investments are being managed and how they work together – no matter how complex it may be.
